SHALIMAX Plastic Emulsion Paint

 

Description

SHALIMAX Plastic Emulsion Paint is new type surface coating for interior surfaces of Building such as cement asbestos cement and hard board etc. It dries quickly in adour free smooth durable finish with no brush marks and patches. It is best suited for colour conditioning in construction of houses. Painting Surface can be washed with soap and water periodically. It has an excellent alkali resisting property, it adheres tightly to cement mortar or plaster surfaces. It hardly changes inn colour and offers ideal decorative coating in a light room. It has faint gloss and provides the coated surfaces with midtone.

Application

Depending on porosity of surface and paint can be thinned with water and applied by brush. Two coats of paint produces ideal results.


Surface preparation

Surface is to be sand prepared down to be free of grease etc. and also it should be free of moisture. To prevent patches and check efflorescence a coat of plastic primer is advisable.


Drying Time

Within 3 hour. Second coat after another hour.


Covering Capacity

Approximately 70 to 90 sq. feet per litre.

Application

Wet the surface well, allowing the water to run down. Then apply Shalimax Plastic Emulsion Paint with a brush of good quality. The first coat should be so brushed into the surface that a good bond is formed. The second or subsequent coats should follow by brushing or spraying. Application of first or subsequent coats should as far as possible be against the sun’s direction.


Curing

The surface on which Shalimax Plastic Emulsion Paint is applied should be wetted at the end of the day with a fine water spray. There should be an interval of 6-8 hours for wetting after the application.


Recommended Method of Curing

After the first coat of Shalimax Plastic Emulsion Paint is applied curing is recommended in upward direction especially when dark shades are applied, so as to avoid any water marks. This is a very important point to be noted when application is on huge deal wells.

Note : Dark shades generally require more curing than light shades.

Uses

Shalimax Plastic Emulsion Paint is used for protecting the decorating various kinds of surfaces like concrete, Cement/Sand/Lime Concrete Blocks, Asbestos Cement Sheet, Sand/Lime Bricks, Wall and Fibre boards, Roughcast and pebbedust etc.


Precautions

1. Dark shades are liable to fleet and are usually for interior painting.
2. Shalimax Plastic Emulsion Paint is not recommended for external application to ordinary bricks unless the bricks are dry and the structure is such that it provides maximum protection from the moisture penetration.


Covering Capacity

This depends on porosity and texture of the surface and whether applied by brush or spray. When applied with all necessary precautions and as per specification, the coverage of Shalimax Plastic Emulsion Paint for 2 coat brush-work applied on different kinds of surfaces is as under: -
